Guri Stubberud
Guri Stubberud started working with music at a young age, writing her own music and working on her demos.
Guris main vocal influences has been the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Cassandra Wilson, but she is also inspired by Whitney Houston and Karen Carpenter.
She was a part of Oslo's soul and R&B scene from the early 2000s, where she performed at a concert series called "The Groove Experience", performing with both local and international artists.
Intriguingly enough, she was discovered by an English investor and ended up performing at closed events for the likes of Michael Parkinson and Alex Ferguson.
Guri Stubberud has lately performed around Oslo and at corporate events. She has signed with Wingman Music and is now finally ready to release her debut album.
Her new album is mixture between Americana, Soul and Jazz, and features instruments as different as Steel guitar in line with traditional African instruments like Ngoni and Calabass drum.
The resulting blend of Guris captivating soul vocal with elements from other genres create a truly unique sound.
